Fazzino’s Final Report from Super Bowl XLIV

February 12th, 2010

I’m finally back in the studio. Actually arrived home on Monday, but then it snowed, snowed, and then snowed some more! Yesterday was our first full day back. There are a few more things I wanted to share from my Super Bowl experience before moving on to my next adventure.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS! I’ve modified the final Super Bowl artwork to reflect the Saints Championship effort. What a fantastic game! I have to admit that i felt bad for my new friend Pierre Garcon, but it was heart-warming to watch the celebration in the French Quarter. Here’s the final Super Bowl artwork:

I had a lot of fun in Miami. Thank you to all of my collectors who came to the Wentworth Gallery shows in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. I enjoyed seeing all of you! I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting one of football’s greatest legends – Don Shula. He was the guest of honor at a cocktail party given by the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee. We had the chance to speak for a few minutes and he autographed one of my hand-painted Super Bowl helmets. What a nice guy!

I can’t believe that this was my tenth Super Bowl! It is a great honor to be working with the NFL for this long and i’m looking forward to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas next year!

Pop Art Updates from Super Bowl XLIV

February 7th, 2010

It’s been a whirlwind this week down in Miami, where i’m making appearances for Super Bowl XLIV. I’ve done two cigar humidor signings, two national television interviews, a couple of local television interviews, two gallery shows, and i just finished a poster signing at the President’s Dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino/Hotel - a fantastic event!

But the most important appearance i’ve made so far was yesterday, when i did the CBS Early Show with Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Pierre Garcon. Pierre, a Hatian-American, started a foundation – Helping Hands – to help those in need in his native country of Haiti. When the disastrous earthquake victimized the country last month, the work of Pierre’s foundation became that much more important. He and I have teamed up to raise money for the relief effort. We have both autographed  one of my hand-painted, 3-D Super Bowl XLIV helmets and it is currently being auctioned on ebay with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Helping Hands. Take a look and bid generously!

Thanks,

Charles

3D Pop Art Fazzino Helmet on ESPN

November 13th, 2009

I had a fun day yesterday….ESPN host Trey Wingo had asked me to create one of my 3-D hand-painted football pop art helmets for his NFL Live Show. I finally finished it and delivered it up to the studios yesterday. I had the opportunity to meet Trey in person for the first time – what a GREAT guy! He gave us a tour of the ESPN facility. They have 10 buildings up there in Bristol, CT and it’s like a little village all to itself. I saw the old studios and the new studios and studios i couldn’t even tell you the purpose of! The way they move in the baseball “fields’ and the basketball “courts” is just amazing. The technology is very cool.

Anyway, Trey unveiled the helmet on the show last night at midnight and then again this afternoon on the 4pm broadcast and i was flattered by what he said. I hope he and the cast enjoy it for a long time to come!

Two Special Football 3D Pop Art Editions

October 26th, 2009

Sometimes i create exclusive art editions for some of my dealers. Because these pieces aren’t widely available, many of my collectors aren’t  aware that they exist. I just sent two editions to Steiner Sports Memorabilia, one of the premiere sports memorabilia companies in the marketplace, and i thought you’d want to know about them.

Many of you have requested that i paint the Dallas Cowboys and i finally did it for Steiner Sports! And it’s the new stadium…..in all its hope and glory! I also finally had the opportunity to paint the University of Alabama Crimson Tide. AU is one of the most storied college teams in sports history and i had a great time painting the campus, the local haunts…and of course, the stadium.

Contact Steiner Sports at www.steinersports.com or 800-759-SCORE  if you’re interested in either one of these football editions and visit my site to see the rest of the currently available football collection.
