He will be attending events at both Fort Lauderdale and Stranahan High Schools, tape a segment on Becon TV’s Teen Talk, be the guest of honor at a Broward County Education Foundation Reception, host two Wentworth Art Gallery shows, and attend the Centennial Riverfest Celebration.

“I am so looking forward to being down in Fort Lauderdale this weekend,” stated Charles from his studio in New York. “We’ve all been working on this project for about a year now and it’s been an incredible experience. I’m looking forward to celebrating with all of my friends who have been so fabulous to work with. I’m going to miss this project, but it will always be a source of pride for me and i will treasure having been a part of it.”

On Friday, March 25th, Fazzino will visit Fort Lauderdale High School, where he will spend some time with the Brian Fitzgerald’s art students as they continue to make progress on their pop fusion Fort Lauderdale mural. In the evening, he will attend the unveiling of the Dream Catcher mural he has consulted on, created by the talented students at Stranahan High School.

On Saturday afternoon, March 26th, he will host a 3D pop art gallery show at Wentworth Gallery on Las Olas Blvd. in Fort Lauderdale and he will appear again in the evening at the Wentworth Gallery at the Boca Town Center in Boca Raton. He will feature the release of his latest limited edition artwork based on the official Fort Lauderdale Centennial Artwork commissioned last year by the city itself: Celebrating 100 Years of Fort Lauderdale.

On Sunday, March 27th, Fazzino will take part in the Fort Lauderdale Centennial Riverfest, an outdoor street fair and festival taking place from noon to 8pm along the Riverwalk promenade in the heart of downtown Fort Lauderdale. There will be a booth selling his official Centennial posters. Fazzino will be on hand in the afternoon to work with the kids on coloring a huge mural based on his artwork that will later be installed at City Hall. He will join Mayor Jack Seiler onstage for the official Birthday Cake Procession and Cutting Ceremony.

My name is Tracy Monteiro and a couple of years back, Mr. Fazzino donated two pictures and a Sam Katz book to our school in Elizabeth, New Jersey to help assist me in teaching his method of art and in Art History on contemporary artists. Now, I am Supervisor of Fine and Performing Arts in ELizabeth. Before I left, my eighth graders made a snow globe for him as a Thank You. They are extremely talented kids and I am very proud of them. It was a Thank You long over due, however, if I sent it the piece may have not made it in one piece so I waited all of this time to hand deliver it. So I am sending two photos. Enjoy……. Our District has become one of his biggest fans. Like I said to him, if ever the day he wants to come and share his experiences with our Arts Academy, he has the golden key to our Arts Education System with all of the good he spreads world wide. Thank you for your time!

Tracy, i was honored to receive the snow globe and impressed with the time and effort the kids put in. You’re right. They ARE talented but so are you, and i applaud your efforts to encourage kids like these to follow the arts and to explore their interests. Thanks so much for writing and keeping in touch.

I’m finally back in the studio. Actually arrived home on Monday, but then it snowed, snowed, and then snowed some more! Yesterday was our first full day back. There are a few more things I wanted to share from my Super Bowl experience before moving on to my next adventure.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS! I’ve modified the final Super Bowl artwork to reflect the Saints Championship effort. What a fantastic game! I have to admit that i felt bad for my new friend Pierre Garcon, but it was heart-warming to watch the celebration in the French Quarter. Here’s the final Super Bowl artwork:

I had a lot of fun in Miami. Thank you to all of my collectors who came to the Wentworth Gallery shows in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. I enjoyed seeing all of you! I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting one of football’s greatest legends – Don Shula. He was the guest of honor at a cocktail party given by the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee. We had the chance to speak for a few minutes and he autographed one of my hand-painted Super Bowl helmets. What a nice guy!

I can’t believe that this was my tenth Super Bowl! It is a great honor to be working with the NFL for this long and i’m looking forward to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas next year!

–Charles
