The partners of James Dean Fest, LLC and CMG Worldwide have tapped 3D pop artist Charles Fazzino to be the Official Artist of the 2005 James Dean 50th Anniversary Celebration. Fazzino's original artwork commemorating the 50th anniversary of the movie legend's tragic death will be officially unveiled at the Cannes Film Festival premiere of the James Dean documentary James Dean: Forever Young. Fazzino's artistic tribute, an exquisitely detailed image which brilliantly captures the actor's exciting, intriguing, and ultimately tragic life, will be released as both a limited edition 3D serigraph as well as an open edition poster.
Fazzino's work will also be the official work for the 2005 James Dean Fest which takes place June 3-5 in Dean's birthplace Marion, Indiana. "It's an honor for me that Warner Bros., the Dean Fest, and CMG Worldwide came together to ask me to create this work," state Fazzino from his New York studio. "My work is celebratory and although James Dean died tragically, his life is to be celebrated. I've tried to capture the essence of James Dean the person and the actor. He's one of the great mysteries of our culture and one of the most compelling American icons."
