Over the course of several years, American Airlines commissioned Charles Fazzino to create a series of artworks to install in the new terminal they built at JFK International Airport. More than a dozen artworks are installed including a thirteen-foot 3D mural and seven-foot 3D airplane sculpture.
The first in the commissioned collection, the mural and companion mobile was completed in three separate sections and installed with a cherry picker above the escalator leading down to the international baggage claim. It welcomes travelers, in grand fashion, to the greatest city in the world.
