Charles Fazzino’s first sculpture release since 1999 took more than two years to complete. “I have always want to create sculpture,” said Fazzino. “But the 3-D aspect of my artwork always made it difficult and I just wasn’t willing to sacrifice the detail or the effect. We made a few in the past, but we used materials that were too heavy or too fragile and we just never seemed able to get the concept translated to something reproducible as a limited edition. That is until we partnered with German sculpture company Goebel Porzellan GmbH. They spent more than one year working to bring my concept to life and they did a fantastic job.”

The porcelain sculpture is hand-painted, hand-embellished, and meticulously enhanced with Swarovski Crystals. The 3D rendering of the original concept proved to be very challenging. Achieving the effect of the many extrusions, while maintaining the integrity of the detail and color, was an almost impossible task. “I’m grateful to the talented sculptors at Goebel for their vigilance in adapting my vision to a three-dimensional object. I know it gave them fits, but I am so proud of the result.”

The sculpture measures 11″ x 11″ x 10″ and sits atop a permanent glossy black base that is attached at the bottom. Each is signed and numbered out of an edition of 100.
