Fazzino Pop Art Tour with Michael Godard Kicks Off in Houston

February 24th, 2010

Last weekend, i was at Off the Wall Gallery in Houston, Texas to kick off a new tour i’m doing. It’s a two man show titled “The Legends of Pop Art: The Next Generation” and pairs my artwork with that of painter Michael Godard. It was a great success and i have to tell you….Michael Godard is the nicest guy! What a great heart! His art and mine really work together fantastically in a gallery setting. We’re both fun…colorful…whimsical…and pop! Interestingly enough, despite Michael’s reference to us being “twins separated at birth” on one of our television interviews, i think it’s fairly obvious from the picture below that we come off on opposite ends of the spectrum. He has a tremendous wit and is quick on his feet. I guess you would describe me as a more “classic” sort…but we had a great time together and i am honored to be touring with him.

Make sure you catch our next appearance together at R Roberts Gallery in Jacksonville and in April, we’ll be at the Russell Collection Gallery in Austin, TX. You can get all the details on http://www.fazzino.com/appearances.htm. We’ll be showing the collaborative artwork we created together…you can see it below. It’s an original painting and a limited edition. And the galleries will be full of hundreds of our creations. Hope to see you there!

Rock On! :-)

Olympic Pin Signing at the NBC Experience Store

February 17th, 2010

Today we continued a tradition. I’ve created seven sets of Olympic pins exclusive to NBC and each time, i’ve done a signing at the NBC Experience Store. Today was the signing for the Vancouver pin collection. This might be my favorite set yet and it was great to see all of my friends….and “pin collectors” there :-) .

If you’re interested, these four-layer collectibles can be found on the NBC/Universal Website at http://www.nbcuniversalstore.com/detail.php?p=255586&v=olympics_collectible-pins.  It’s amazing how over the years, i’ve seen these pins all over the world. I’ve walked into gallery signings in Europe only to find collectors waiting for me to sign a bag of Olympic pins. It’s become quite the collectible and i love watchign the phenomenon grow. I’m proud of the pins and the way that Aminco International has been able to translate my 3D style into such an impressive product.

Fazzino’s Final Report from Super Bowl XLIV

February 12th, 2010

I’m finally back in the studio. Actually arrived home on Monday, but then it snowed, snowed, and then snowed some more! Yesterday was our first full day back. There are a few more things I wanted to share from my Super Bowl experience before moving on to my next adventure.

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO THE NEW ORLEANS SAINTS! I’ve modified the final Super Bowl artwork to reflect the Saints Championship effort. What a fantastic game! I have to admit that i felt bad for my new friend Pierre Garcon, but it was heart-warming to watch the celebration in the French Quarter. Here’s the final Super Bowl artwork:

I had a lot of fun in Miami. Thank you to all of my collectors who came to the Wentworth Gallery shows in Ft. Lauderdale and Boca Raton. I enjoyed seeing all of you! I also had the distinct pleasure of meeting one of football’s greatest legends – Don Shula. He was the guest of honor at a cocktail party given by the South Florida Super Bowl Host Committee. We had the chance to speak for a few minutes and he autographed one of my hand-painted Super Bowl helmets. What a nice guy!

I can’t believe that this was my tenth Super Bowl! It is a great honor to be working with the NFL for this long and i’m looking forward to Super Bowl XLV in Dallas next year!

Pop Art Updates from Super Bowl XLIV

February 7th, 2010

It’s been a whirlwind this week down in Miami, where i’m making appearances for Super Bowl XLIV. I’ve done two cigar humidor signings, two national television interviews, a couple of local television interviews, two gallery shows, and i just finished a poster signing at the President’s Dinner at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino/Hotel - a fantastic event!

But the most important appearance i’ve made so far was yesterday, when i did the CBS Early Show with Indianapolis Colts Wide Receiver Pierre Garcon. Pierre, a Hatian-American, started a foundation – Helping Hands – to help those in need in his native country of Haiti. When the disastrous earthquake victimized the country last month, the work of Pierre’s foundation became that much more important. He and I have teamed up to raise money for the relief effort. We have both autographed  one of my hand-painted, 3-D Super Bowl XLIV helmets and it is currently being auctioned on ebay with 100% of the proceeds benefitting Helping Hands. Take a look and bid generously!

Thanks,

Charles
