Welcome to My New Blog!

Welcome to my new blog. I have to admit that before a few months ago, I didn’t even know what a blog was. Several people told me that while we were building this new Collectors Club website, I should consider writing a blog. So I looked up the definition. I’m still not sure I get it. But it looks to me like it’s a great chance for me to talk to you and hear from you….those of you who collect my 3d art, are interested in my work, or are just interested in the pop art movement in general.

I travel all over the world and my favorite thing to do is to meet people at my shows and just talk to them…find out what they like about my art…what they are interested in…and most importantly, where they travel and what their favorite restaurants are! I will try to share, if you will. I’ll tell you my stories about the Dalai Lama, and Barbara Walters, my adventures on airplanes, and my middle-of-the-night inspirations.

So, send me some ideas about topics you’d like to know more about and questions you want me to answer – my art process and history, where I get my ideas from, where I like to travel, and of course, my favorite restaurants. Some of you have even been collecting my work for decades. Send me some pictures of the older works you have and I’ll tell you how they came about and what inspired them. I’ll post your questions and try to answer them here.

I look forward to chatting with all of you and I'll try to post at least once a week.

This is very exciting! Charles – what is your favorite restaurant to go to? Do you have different favorites in all of the cities your travel to?!

  2. CFazzino says:

Huge fan of Houston’s. The menu is very small but everything they make is so FRESH! Love the Palomino in Indianapolis but i don’t get there often enough. In LA, the Garlic Rose is my choice….you HAVE to try the garlic ice cream. And there’s just too many to mention from New Orleans!!!

And of course, in NYC….my favorites of all – The Homestead and my ultimate favorite for every special occassions is the Four Seasons restaurant designed by Phillip Johnston, the famous architect!

Hi Charles, It’s Steve & Steve from the L.A. area. Don’t know if we mentioned, but when we bought our home, the dining room had a wallpaper border “free hand drawing style” of hot air balloons, some ships and the word America. The realtor of course said, well that’s so easy to remove…Huh? We thought? It’s perfect! Well near perfect… If only you had created a 6″ border…either way that became the room for many of our “City” themed pieces.

The new site is great, and since we have been collecting you for decades now (thanks for making us feel old) we weren’t up on what a “blog” was either.

Hope you and Susan are well. We missed you in Paris by a week. Our friends took us to several neighborhood bistros of note, none of which are known by tourists. Fortunately, our friends did all the ordering, else I would have been served horsemeat…which is served very much like sliced pastrami. Ewwww!

Anyway, our Paris pieces have new meaning….
AH…think about a piece of “The Museums of Paris”, so many obscure silly museums like the museum of lunettes (eyeglasses) to include, and the Musee D’orsay…if you can…the train depot interior with its clock, is a natural for 3D adaptation. We SO wanted to surprise you at the Marais district gallery. Would have been fun.

Our best to you. The Steves

  4. CFazzino says:

Sorry I missed you guys at the Paris show – the show in the Marais district was fantastic and NOBODY was smoking. I used to have a problem with people smoking (i’m totally allergic)…but not a lot of places are non-smoking there.

I’ll keep it in mind about a museum piece on Paris. Maybe someday i’ll be in one of them. Who knows?

    My best to you guys,

    Hi Mr. Fazzino,

Wanted to drop a line, this is David Sultan from Miami. I am pretty exited, I just picked up my new piece “For the Love of France” 15/95 PR this saturday (May 10th. This will be piece number 14. Beautiful piece as usual, Thank you!

Any news on the big “Paris” piece we talked about while you were in Miami area. Will possibly see you in the Miami area in August (I got some info you may come for another presentation at the Gallery in Boca)

  6. CFazzino says:

    Hey David,
Thanks for the note. You know…i have so many ideas … and a large Paris is stil on the radar screen. I just haven’t gotten to it yet. Plus, i was working with my French distribution company late last year and they really wanted a print of the entire country for their collector base. So, i did that first.

14 Pieces! Make sure you enter my featured fazzino contest. See you in Miami!

    Dear Charles,
    this is Christian from Germany.
First of all I want to thank you for the Broadway screen. It is absolutly wonderful !! And thank you very, very much for the special creation on the backside of the screen. This means so much to me.
And I want to thank your whole team for their support over all these years.
Dear Charles, I am collecting your artwork over so many years and every piece became a chapter of my life. Every little detail in your pieces, the colours you use, the dramatic in your creation 3-D is from indescribable descriptive power.
Thank you so much for all that joy you give us by your artwork.
P.S.: Next time you will visit Germany, I have a special advice for you: A very excellent restaurant called: „ANGE D‘ OR JUNIOR“ (located near Düsseldorf)

  8. CFazzino says:

    Hello Christian,
Thanks for writing to me. I am so glad that you are enjoying the Broadway screen. I was actually pretty proud of it. I hope you don’t mind, but i posted a picture of it above so everyone could see what you were talking about.

I will definitely take you up on your Dusseldorf restaurant recommendation. Thanks for that. I’ll let you know how it is after I go there.

  9. Patrick Bardon says:

    Dear Mister Charles,

    I’m Patrick from France.
I love your 3D paints and got 3 of them. Beautiful!
My first one was flying over NY (42/50 AP). I bought then 2 others (What a girl wants & the girl can’t help ip). I also go your apple musical jewel box which is really nice as well.
But I have something special from you: I have 26 pins. I’m a fan. I’m not sure about that, but I think only one is missing me: Your Seattle Mariners safeco field. I’m not able to find it. I spend more than one year to find all of them… Really exciting to find and get a new one… I’m currently waiting for the new bejing (extra). I saw you also created a new one (New Limited Edition 3-D Fine Art, Super-Sized Display Pin). I’ll order it ASAP to the collector club. Thanks for your art Charles. You’re magical!
    Kind regards

  10. CFazzino says:

    Hey Patrick,
Thanks for writing! Hmmm. I actually haven’t seen those Safeco Field pins around for a long time. Before your letter, I had no idea how many pins I’ve created…now i know it’s 26! I’m hoping to turn the collectors club pin into a series so stay tuned!

Thank you for collecting all these years!

  11. Howard Patner says:

My wife and I have been collecting since the late 80’s. Our first piece is San Francisco. Since then we have added nine more and you have customized many of them for us. Our family room is our museum. Each time we look at one of your pieces we see new things that we could swear were not there before.

Can you give Carol at DDD a special thank you from us for making us feel so important when we call to bother her?

You know my beloved Chicago Cubs at Wrigley would make a wonderful 3-d serigraph. They have been around for over 100 years so there would be much to choose from. It would be a great tribute before their sold. What do you think?

  12. CFazzino says:

    Hello Howard,
Thanks for the note. Carol IS great, isn’t she? I’d love to see pics of your “museum…” – make sure you submit them for our featured fazzino contest!

Wrigley Field has been on my radar screen for awhile. The closest I’ve come so far was to paint it on a series of baseballs and one original painting. I will definitely keep it on the list of possible new limited edition releases.

    Take Care,

  13. Connie Flury says:

Hi Charles, My wife Gine and I met you at the pre Superbowl sportsfest this year in Glendale. Just wanted to drop you a note to say Hi. Our collection continues to grow, most recently with the Superbowl piece and the Giants helmet AND superbowl helmet. Nice additions! We are looking forward to many of your future artwork additions, especially if you decide to do another one on the southwest. The Audiencerewards piece look sawesome, but I think it will take a decade for me to get the required points!
    Best regards from Arizona!

  14. LeJuan George says:

    Hi Charles,

I am very excited about the creation of this Collectors site! Once again, you continue to amaze me.

Greetings to you from Alabama. My name is LeJuan George. I have had the pleasure of writing a letter of “Thanks” to you due to your ability to connect with your fans, buyers and your honorable philanthropic contributions to society and for having such a dynamic and professional staff. I hope you remember that letter.

I really appreciate the fact that you are an artist that gives back to the community. As well, an artist that ‘keeps in touch’ with his buyers and followers. Indeed you are using your craft in a way that touches the hearts of millions all over.

Charles, I am pretty confident that you have never been to Alabama. But let me ask just to make sure…Mr. Fazzino, have you ever visited the state of Alabama? In addition, how would an art institution or business go about getting you to participate in an event so that your magnificent work could be shown to an area that you may have never been to?

    LeJuan George

  15. CFazzino says:

    Hi Connie,
It was a pleasure meeting you in Glendale. I LOVE Arizona….
I think, actually, that you can buy the audience rewards mini outright. You don’t have to use points to get it. If you have any questions about that, you can email Rebecca Velazquez at rvelazquez@nederlander.com or you can drop me a direct line at info@fazzinocollectors.com and i’ll put you in touch.

    Take care,

  16. CFazzino says:

    Wow LeJuan,

Your email certainly made my day! Thanks.

Well…actually…I’ve never been to Alabama. There used to be a gallery in Birmingham that carried my work many years ago, but then they decided to go in another direction….away from contemporary art. I’ve heard there’s a nice art community there and I’d love an excuse to come there. If you know of anyone who wants to exhibit my work there, have them contact the Director of my publishing company, Julie Maner, at jmaner@fazzino.com.

Take care LeJuan and again, thanks for the wonderful comments.

For all Fazzino Fans do not miss the cavern of ALIBABA – the Fazzino Gallery in St. Barbara!

    It’s a MUST for a Fazzino Fan.

Especially the staff is very nice and you get plenty of interessting informations.

Dear Charles, your idea of making a small St. Barbara Art piece is great. I was able to buy one as a gift and take it back to Switzerland in the plane 🙂

Working in the Luxury Goods I would like to give you an idea: what about making a Art Piece with Swiss luxury, watches (can provide you spare parts) Diamonds (can provide swarowski crystals) etc.
Sure some of your collectors will love it !

    Take care

  18. Cfazzino says:

Thanks for the idea Alex. It’s an interesting one. I once had a dealer that was going to give me some diamonds to use to embellish his pieces. It was an interesting idea. I’d love to partner with a Swiss Watch company…..maybe a watch AND a piece of art? Thanks for writing!

  19. Janette Hechel says:

    Hi Charles

I am so so excited at the moment, I have just ordered Schmaltzy Shamattes PR – huge deal for me and I cant wait for it to arrive over the water in London. About four years ago I discovered you at a gallery in London. I bought the most amazing Up Madison down Fifth. I love it and get amazing reactions for it (can you imagine this new one – its HUGE!!). Very sad because the shop closed down and now we have no stockists in the UK. Please come back to England. I really want to see your work in real. The pictures really dont do them justice! Cant wait.

    Thanks loads

  20. Charles says:

    Hello Janette,
England has been an interesting market for me….there are alot of UK residents who collect the work but they seem to get it outside the country because we haven’t had any dealers exhibit my work consistently. I’m still looking for a great gallery there so if you know of one, let me know.

Enjoy your Schmaltzy and thanks for joining my collectors club!

  21. Janette Hechel says:

Wow Charles I received my Schmaltzy today, it is absolutely fantastic, Im so so thrilled with it. I work in a beautiful house with exhibition space, it houses the Jewish Cultural Centre here. Would you be interested in an exhibition?

    Thanks again for your art

  22. Charles says:

    Hello Janette,
I’m thrilled that you like the Schmaltzy. Send me a picture of it on your wall! The idea of an exhibition is an interesting one. We will contact you about that.
