New Rochelle, NY – –Acclaimed 3D pop artist Charles Fazzino is hosting the second annual EXPRESSIONS Art Exhibit and VIP Reception to benefit CHOICE (Consumers Helping Others in a Caring Environment) at his personal studio and showroom in New Rochelle on Tuesday, September 30th, from 6pm to 9pm. CHOICE is a grassroots, unique, peer-to-peer mental health advocacy serving hundreds of under-served people in Westchester County, NY. Their mission is to bring services including Peer Advocacy, Homeless Outreach, and Care Coordination, to people with mental illness and to those who have been unable to access the services and benefits to which they are entitled. The event is also being held to honor Mr. Ashley Brody the Associate Executive Director of Search for Change and CHOICE Board of Directors Member.
As part of their organized programming, CHOICE has developed a weekly art program and invites clients to indulge their creativity as they explore their feelings, motivations, fears, and dreams. This very powerful program has allowed the staff at CHOICE to reach clients previously thought unreachable. “It’s an amazing thing to watch someone walk into a room full of fear and anxiety, sit down at a table and start to draw or paint or collage…and all of a sudden, they are able to express things they’ve never been able to before,” said Choice Executived Director Guy Fessenden. “Art is an incredible outlet for our clients and we are proud that Charles Fazzino and the TATS CRU have chosen to share their time and talents with us in order to further our mission ….with the arts and beyond.”
“Art has been a powerful tool in my own life,” said Charles Fazzino from his New Rochelle Art Studio. “I’m not sure where I would be without it. It’s an outlet for so many people and a means to communicate, process, and grow…..to see the world in a different way and hopefully in a brighter light. CHOICE has incorporated art into their crucial mission of helping others. I’m very gratified by that and am happy to be opening my studio for a wonderful fundraising event for this powerful organization.”
Charles Fazzino will be present at the event and attendees will be treated to a private art show, guided studio tour, and reception. Artwork by the clients of CHOICE will also be on display. 30% of the proceeds from the sales during the evening will be donated to CHOICE and the $150 ticket price will also be deducted from the price of any fine artwork purchased.
Famous graffiti artists the Tats Cru will also paint live at the event. According to their statement, “The TATS CRU is honored to be a part of the CHOICE event. Through our travels, we have found that art is an essential part of mental health. Whether it be through painting, drawing, or simply observing, it provides an outlet and a form of positive expression. We hope that our live presentation makes an impact with attendees.”
